Are you worried about flooding every time it rains?
One flooding victim went so far as to say that he is tired of worrying about flooding every time it thunders! Most in the Houston area can relate to that sentiment. But some have taken steps to alleviate that worry.
See what Hurricane Harvey survivors who invested in floodproofing measures say:
August 15, 2017
“We both feel this is the best investment we have ever made, and that is saying a lot for a 75 and 80 year old. I used to worry all the time and lose sleep whenever it rained, but not anymore. We have total peace of mind.”
…and just after the worst of Hurricane Harvey, we checked in on them, and they had this to say:
August 28, 2017
“So far, So good. We thank you for the work done.”

“Because of the flood proofing you gave us a number of years ago, our house stayed dry. We are thrilled. The street flooding went over our pad twice on Saturday night, and without the work you guys did, I know that we would be ripping out drywall right now. Thank you so much.“

FloodSafe USA is introducing a series of blog posts called #HoustonStrong.
We aim to raise awareness on the availability of preventive measures by providing education on such measures and the steps that should be taken to put them in place.
Since you are likely experiencing the whirlwind of activity immediately following a flood disaster, we want to ease burdens and make this information readily available. While our primary focus will be on dry floodproofing, we will mention other preventive measures available to spur on your research.
Look for the following points to be covered in this series:
- Your primary points of flood risk
- What buildings do and do not qualify for dry floodproofing
- Preventive measures available for homes and light commercial buildings
- Brief overviews of what dry floodproofing consists of
- Comparison analysis of various protection for doorways: from do-it-yourself to residential flood doors
- Answer questions about Federal funding and insurance reimbursement for preventive measures
- Average pricing of FloodSafe USA dry floodproofing services…and more
The #HoustonStrong series will unfold rapidly with articles posted as quickly as we can produce them, so tune in at www.FloodSafeUSA.com, or follow us on Facebook and LinkedIn, and check back often to get the scoop. Or call with questions anytime at 210-920-1872.
Here is a brief history of how we ended up in Houston.
FloodSafe USA was founded by flood assessment expert, Ron Helton. FloodSafe was triggered in theory when Ron learned that no practical or affordable flood solutions existed for residential and light commercial buildings. After much research and testing, the company was born 10 years ago. And immediately following the Memorial Day Flood of 2015, we set our focus on the Houston area. This is an area hard-hit by frequent major storm systems, urban sprawl, and poor drainage throughout. Even a heavy rain can cause flooding in areas. And sadly, many do not know that dry floodproofing is an option for them. In hopes of changing that as we continue to FloodSafe Houston, we look forward to taking this journey with you. Here is one last quote from a FloodSafe client. Tune in for more later today and throughout the next week.
